A.S. Barr has strong relationships with a wide-range of international sea and air carriers, specialising in perishable freigh. We can arrange your bookings, documentation and marine insurance (optional), and ensure the most suitable route and carrier is chosen for your products.
We can manage all of your import and export documentation, including: Bills of Lading, Waybills, permits and phytosanitary certificates, other quarantine documents, certificates of origin, calibration certificates, commercial invoices, packing lists and forwarding instructions.
We undertake ripening and conditioning of various products on premises, including avocados, mangoes and bananas.
We can arrange independent surveys (e.g. pre-transit surveys for insurance of letter of credit) by any of the leading survey providers, including those nominated by your customers.
We are able to arrange treatments for export shipments before departure so that they comply with a country's quarantine laws (if required). This includes undertaking fumigation (with Methyl Bromide), cold treatment (both pre-transit and in-transit), and arranging irradiation.
We offer third-party distribution services to allow for the delivery of your import shipments to customers. This service includes clearing cargo, satisfying import quarantine requirements, warehousing, de-seeding and distribution of multiple loads via road freight. We can also offer pre-packing services, grading and labelling, customised to your customer's requirements.
A.S. Barr's facilities are registered to undertake export to all countries and to clear imported fresh produce and flowers. Our experienced and qualified staff will arrange both import and export quarantine inspections, as well as conduct export calibration of containers. Our software systems have direct links to the relevant Australian government and customs agencies to ensure your shipments are processed efficiently.
Our new, quality accredited facilities are operated by an experienced team of staff. We offer short and long term refrigerated storage at mixed temperatures, as well as forced-air cooling options.
